The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®
Through our partnership with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation to date we have donated $750,000 to fund research grants, which are awarded annually to doctors and scientists all over the world as part of the organization's mission to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. The scientific team who received a BCRF grant funded by our 2009 donation are based at Dartmouth Medical School and are currently working on chemopreventive agents and drug protocols destined for clinical use. We will be fully funding two research projects next year.
Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) Foundation
The Project WET Foundation has given millions of school children and their teachers in more than 50 countries lively and scientifically sound classroom curricula, festivals and community grants that help them learn about, appreciate and conserve water. Inspired, Nestlé Waters North America has, since 1997, supported Project WET USA efforts and several of the Foundation's projects through employee volunteerism and a long-standing financial commitment.

Healthy Active Living for Families
Developed Partnership with American Academy of Pediatricians and formed Healthy Active Living for Families (HALF) initiative. The HALF initiative will use Nestlé Gerber science to create patient and family educational materials aimed at obesity prevention from infancy through pre-school. Materials will be distributed through pediatrician offices nationwide starting in late 2011.
Yum-O
Contributed $500,000 to TV personality Rachael Ray's Yum-O not-for-profit organization. The mission of Yum-O is closely aligned with the foundation of Start Healthy Stay Healthy, "helping to educate and provide nutrition and nutrition education." Our donation will help to provide food for children who are in-need of nutrition.

Pets for People
At Purina, We are Committed to Helping Pets in our Community.
Purina's Pets for People initiative has been supporting animal welfare organizations since 1984. In 2009, Purina provided over $15 million in support to organizations nationally. By supporting our partners in animal welfare, Purina helps provide care and adoption for more than 1.5 million pets annually.

Purina is the premier sponsor of Adopt-a-Pet.com, the country's largest non-profit website dedicated to placing homeless pets in permanent homes. Purina is the premier sponsor of Delta Society®, the leading international resource for the human-animal bond. Delta Society® has been the force to validate the important role of animals for people's health and well-being by promoting the results of research to the media and health and human services organizations. Purina is now joined with Delta Society® to help interested Purina employees to become a Delta Society® Pet Partner. Pet Partners Program is the program of Delta Society which enables pet owner volunteers to provide services to people in their own communities while spending quality time with their pets. Currently there are 16 Purina St. Louis Pet Partner Teams and more to come.

Nestlé USA is a member of the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation (HWCF) a partnership between more than 80 of the nation's largest retailers, non-profit organizations, food and beverage manufacturers and trade associations aimed at helping to reduce obesity. The HWCF is committed to providing healthier food and helping Americans become more physically active.
Healthy Steps for Healthy Lives
Nestle USA's award-winning Healthy Steps for Healthy Lives program offers teachers innovative tools to educate pre-school and kindergarten students about good nutrition and physical activity. The program, which was launched in 2005, includes information that can be shared at home with parents and caregivers and is available in English and Spanish. More than 40,000 Healthy Steps kits have been distributed to teachers reaching nearly one million children and their families.

Nestlé USA plants and distribution centers work with local Feeding America-affiliated food banks to supply products on an ongoing basis. Feeding America is the largest charitable domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States.
