Nestlé In Action
We believe in team work to achieve common goals. That's why we partner with a variety of organizations, companies, associations and other interests to foster health, nutrition and wellness throughout the world.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®
Through our partnership with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation to date we have donated $750,000 to fund research grants, which are awarded annually to doctors and scientists all over the world as part of the organization's mission to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. The scientific team who received a BCRF grant funded by our 2009 donation are based at Dartmouth Medical School and are currently working on chemopreventive agents and drug protocols destined for clinical use. We will be fully funding two research projects next year.
Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) Foundation
The Project WET Foundation has given millions of school children and their teachers in more than 50 countries lively and scientifically sound classroom curricula, festivals and community grants that help them learn about, appreciate and conserve water. Inspired, Nestlé Waters North America has, since 1997, supported Project WET USA efforts and several of the Foundation's projects through employee volunteerism and a long-standing financial commitment.
Healthy Active Living for Families
Developed Partnership with American Academy of Pediatricians and formed Healthy Active Living for Families (HALF) initiative. The HALF initiative will use Nestlé Gerber science to create patient and family educational materials aimed at obesity prevention from infancy through pre-school. Materials will be distributed through pediatrician offices nationwide starting in late 2011.
Contributed $500,000 to TV personality Rachael Ray's Yum-O not-for-profit organization. The mission of Yum-O is closely aligned with the foundation of Start Healthy Stay Healthy, "helping to educate and provide nutrition and nutrition education." Our donation will help to provide food for children who are in-need of nutrition.
